Arba Minim Care Guide

Arba Minim Care Guide

Proper care after delivery helps preserve the freshness, beauty, and condition of your Arba Minim through Sukkos.

When Your Shipment Arrives

Open every shipping box immediately. Count and inspect all items before storing or distributing them, even if the cartons appear undamaged.

Any missing, incorrect, or shipping-damaged item must be reported within 24 hours of delivery. Include clear photographs of the item, its packaging, the shipping box, and the shipping label.

Keep all products and original packaging until the matter is resolved.
Do not leave the shipment outdoors, in direct sunlight, or inside a warm vehicle.

Caring for Your Esrog

  • Keep the Esrog in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.
  • Leave it protected in its box and cushioning when it is not being inspected or used.
  • Handle it gently and avoid unnecessary handling.
  • Never hold or lift an Esrog by its pitom.
  • Keep it away from young children and places where it could be knocked over.
  • Before closing the box, make sure the pitom is not pressing against the lid or packaging.

An Esrog should not normally be placed loose in a refrigerator, where moisture or contact with other items could cause damage.
If refrigeration becomes necessary because of unusually warm conditions or extended storage, protect the Esrog carefully and avoid condensation and freezing temperatures.

Caring for Your Lulav

  • Keep the Lulav in a cool location away from heat and direct sunlight.
  • Keep it wrapped or sealed as supplied until it is needed.
  • Avoid bending, crushing, or placing weight on its tip.
  • If refrigerated, protect it from freezing, excessive moisture, and other items that could press against it.
  • Never store a Lulav in a hot vehicle or near a heater.

Because Lulavim are long and delicate, move and distribute them carefully. Support the length of the Lulav rather than carrying it in a way that places pressure on the upper leaves.

Caring for Hadassim & Aravos

  • Refrigerate Hadassim promptly in their sealed packaging.
  • Keep them cold, but do not freeze them.
  • Avoid repeatedly opening the package, which allows moisture to escape.
  • Keep them away from the coldest area or vent of the refrigerator.
  • Do not place heavy items on top of them.
  • If the packaging has been opened, take care to maintain moisture without soaking the leaves or allowing standing water to collect.

After Binding the Set

Once the Lulav, Hadassim, and Aravos are assembled, keep the bundle cool and protected whenever it is not in use.
Refrigeration can help preserve freshness, provided the bundle is protected from freezing, crushing, and excessive moisture.
Return the bundle to proper storage as soon as practical after use. Take special care with the Lulav tip and the Aravos, which are particularly delicate.

Bulk Orders and Distribution

For bulk orders, inspect and count the complete shipment before dividing or distributing it.
Keep Hadassim and Aravos refrigerated until they are given to the final recipients. Keep Esrogim and Lulavim in a cool, protected location.
Share these care instructions with recipients so that each set is stored properly after distribution.

Important Reminder

Arba Minim are natural and perishable. Their condition can be affected by temperature, moisture, airflow, handling, and the length of storage.
Altein Esrogim is not responsible for deterioration or damage caused by delayed opening, improper storage, excessive heat or cold, mishandling, or improper redistribution after delivery.
